I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to the incredible interpreter Cheyenne Atkins, whose authenticity, passion, expertise, adaptability, patience, and dedication elevate every space she enters from musical theatre to the federal government. Her National Interpreter Certification (NIC) doesn’t just define her as an advanced interpreter; she brings a depth of craft that transcends the technical boundaries of ASL interpretation.

Cheyenne consistently demonstrates what real qualifications look like. She takes the time to understand the evolving scope of each client’s specialized work and effortlessly code-switches to navigate complex, culturally nuanced communication tailored to the intended audience.

Her work isn’t simply about accessibility for Deaf clients. It’s about ensuring that communication styles across Deaf and hearing audiences align with context, intention, inclusivity, and connection in the room.

Cheyenne’s commitment, versatility, and professionalism make her an exceptional interpreter, and the community is genuinely better because of her work. I highly recommend her services.

51st News

We had the pleasure of working with Elevated Access Co. for interpretation of the D.C. Delegate to Congress debate we hosted. Cheyenne was reliable, professional and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. We were grateful she allowed us to provide full language access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants.

Private Client

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank Cheyenne for helping me during an emergency involving my deaf cousin. Cheyenne is not only a certified sign language interpreter but also a very close family member to me, and I am incredibly grateful that she was available when I needed her most.

She urgently FaceTimed both my cousin and me, allowing us to communicate effectively. Thanks to her interpreting, I was able to understand what had happened, why my cousin needed to speak with me, and, most importantly, that my cousin was okay. Her quick response, professionalism, and willingness to help during such a stressful situation meant more to me than words can express.

Cheyenne, thank you for being there when we needed you. Your kindness, patience, and support made a difficult moment much easier, and I truly appreciate everything you did for our family.

Let's be real. You've never met anyone like Cheyenne Atkins.

She moves through Deaf culture like she was born in it; not performing, not observing, but belonging. She reads a room before anyone speaks a word. She handles logistics with a sharpness that makes the chaos look easy. But what stops you in your tracks? Baby girls heart.

She doesn't just coordinate interpreters. She carries them. She checks in. She fights for us. She makes sure we have what we need to show up as our full selves. And when the day goes sideways, and it will; she's right there in the trenches with us.

Her unbreakable rule? No one gets left behind. Not the team. Not the clients. Not ever.

That's not just a boss. That's a leader you'd run in the fire with! That's someone who makes you want to be better, do better, give better.

That's Cheyenne Atkins. A COLLEAGUE & MY FRIEND!

And honestly? I'm not just proud to work with her. I'm honored to know her.
